Meet the Artist

Hi! I am so glad you are here! Let me introduce myself…

I am an artist, educator, and graphic designer from the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. I am consistently inspired by the city of New Orleans, its culture, architecture, and the resilience of its people. There is so much beauty to be experienced in this world and I hope I can bring some of that into your life!

I have always known my career path would involve art in some way, but my journey to pursue art full-time was not so clear. For many years, I believed that my dream of becoming a full-time artist, was simply a “retirement dream.” After graduating with my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers), I received my Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education at Liberty University Online. During my masters program and in the years after, I taught various subjects and grade levels both part time and full time at different schools across the GNO area. Even though it was difficult for me to leave my kindergarten classroom, I felt called to focus my efforts towards fulfilling my dream! I have to thank my parents, my husband, and my friends for all of their support along the way. They believed in me even when I did not and they are the reason I have the privilege of calling myself an artist.

My goal is to inspire others to be creative and to find a part of themselves that connects and relates to others. Art is beautiful in that way! Art gives us the opportunity to peer into someone else’s mind and to connect with one another. I do not simply produce a product that is pretty. I create with intention. By sharing my art, I am placing a part of myself, my time, my mind, my skill, and my perspective on display for others to hopefully resonate with. My goal as an artist is to inspire you to slow down, find the moments to be grateful, and perhaps, attempt to be vulnerable as well, so that you may connect with the people and places around you on a deeper level.
